This week we have received a new collection of these beautiful fair trade Maniyar Kilim wool and cotton chair pads. They have been handwoven on flat looms in rural communities in India using traditional designs and techniques which have been passed down through generations. The skilled weavers usually make these items to supplement their agricultural income, on looms either in their own home or in local workshops. Kilim production is a skilled art and such work attracts good rates of pay.
Each chair pad measures 43 by 43 cm.
