Leather Bound Handmade Paper Krishna Journal
3 in stock
This series of leather bound journals has been commissioned from one of our suppliers in Rajasthan, in North West India. The paper is made from upcycled cotton rags, a by-product of the garment manufacturing industry centred around Jaipur. Each sheet has been torn by hand to provide a delightful deckled edge. The traditional craft skills required for this work are typical of the region and generate valuable employment in local village communities.
This journal measures approximately 18cm by 13 cm with an average of 50pages (100 sides) of handmade paper. The front cover sports a hand coloured picture of Krishna, one of the most widely revered and most popular of all Indian divinities. Krishna is worshipped as the eighth incarnation of the Hindu god Vishnu and also as a Svayam Bhagavan (supreme god) in his own right.
As each item has been made by hand and there will be some variations in print and colour from the pictures shown.
